Meet Gary Hodgson

As an Independent Celebrant, I dedicate myself to crafting funeral ceremonies that truly reflect the life and love of your departed family member. I prioritise empathy, professionalism, and personalisation in every service.

My family is very important to me, married to Debbie for over 20 years and I have 4 grandchildren.

I decided to become a Celebrant after my father died, and I was involved in planning his funeral. Turning what was an undoubtedly sad time into a celebration gave me a sense of well being, and thought why not do this for other people, so here I am.

I enjoy  playing and watching most sports, football being the main one, supporting 'my team' for over 50 years.

I have been involved in hosting children affected by the Chernobyl disaster and also raising funds for Kidney research.

I have a natural outgoing personality which lends itself to being able to provide an uplifting and respectful service.

Ready to Plan a Tribute?

Every life is unique and so therefore every funeral ceremony must be unique. Every funeral should reflect individuality and personal wishes.

To say farewell to somebody that we love is an extremely difficult and sad time. Planning and preparation is key, and my aim is to get to know exactly what you want. It is your chance to celebrate the life of your loved one.

We will meet and have regular contact, and you will always receive my personal attention. I am based near York, but happy to look at travelling within all Yorkshire areas
